A Christmas Chair

This past Sunday ended up being such a wonderful day!  We woke up to snow which was a real blessing as here in Colorado , as we have been extremely dry.  The only down side to the snow was that the 2nd of 4 parties we were hosting here at the house was scheduled for this day.  At 19 degrees, snow and icy roads,  it was decided that it was too dangerous for people to drive so we will reschedule for another day.

But now-  an entire day to stay in = relaxing by the fire just hubby, kitty, and Jesse dog!  What a nice day!  I had time to take pictures and start on a couple of future posts even!  I ended up posting the mantel post by mistake when I should have posted part 2 of the study as many of you are wanting to know the story of the chair in the mirror reflection.

Well, Jean is a sweet friend that I met via her blog, In the Garden With Miss Jean.  She wa,s at the time we met,  living in California and her son lived in the Denver area .  Last year she and her sweet hubby spent a little time with us when they were traveling to go visit their son.

Well earlier this year they moved to Denver.  When I blogged about hubby and I going to Florida, Jean was so thoughtful and suggested that we drive to their home then she would take us to the airport so we wouldn't have to pay parking fees.  Her and hubby picked us up from the airport too and took great care of watching our truck.  When we got ready to leave to drive back home she had Bill load this beautiful chair in the truck for she didn't have a place for it and thought it would look lovely in our home.  Isn't that just the sweetest thing!
And yes, it certainly does look beautiful and fits perfectly in our study.  Thank you so much Jean!!
I am so enjoying the beautiful gift!

Makes for a perfect reflection!

Beautiful chair - beautiful gift - but most importantly, a beautiful friend. How sweetly she has blessed you. The chair looks perfect in your study Mary. How are you doing since our little talk? Hope all is well and Christmas prep is proceeding on schedule.

That is a beautiful chair - my favorite vintage style of upholstery. It almost rivals my favorite chair of yours - the red one in the living room. What a thoughtful gift! We enjoyed the snow on Sunday, too; but it was dicey getting to church on time. Sally

Thank you for the kind words, Mary. It is very easy to do something for someone who does so much for others. Since our home is smaller than our old one, it needed a better spot and your home is perfect. It comes with a long history of love and care and I know it will have many more years of the same at your home.
