Pretty Graphics and Lace

I am so excited that I will be able to finally join The Where Women Create linky party this year.
I won't nearly be finished with my space it has enough accomplished to show it off a bit.
Edited to add- You can see my creative space post HERE
.
Lots of projects have been accomplished and thought I would show you one today.  This inspiration came by way of French Laundry and her pretty lace cards.

I have tons of ribbon and lace and trims and decided to make some cards to display the trims on.
I used Karen's wonderful graphics over at the Graphic Fairy for this project.  What would we do without Karen and all her great graphics she shares?  Thank you Karen!
While sorting through all my piles of junk supplies I came across some black index cards with tabs.
They are a nice thick board which was just perfect for my project.
First I cut the tabs off each one.

Then I printed off a bunch of different graphics onto several regular sheets of paper.
I don't have alot of fancy tools in my craft area so used some decorative scissors to cut a cute shape at each corner of the paper. With a glue stick or other glue glue graphic on to card.

Wrap your trim around the card. I secured the starting end with a piece of tape (staples would work also).
To secure the end I used vintage clip buttons - I think it makes a nice touch plus you know where the end is.
Some of you may remember the post I did on how I used the wood thing a ma-jig  (you can see that cute project here ) but I never showed you how I used the top piece.  It is a copper musical mobile piece . I found both these items for 10 cents each and just knew I could do something with them.
Using curtain clip rings I now have a fun way to store my trims and have them looking pretty too!  I added
old keys at the ends each limb to keep the trims from slipping off.
I ran out of those pretty black cards so you may notice that I have someburgandy backed cards.
I bought 1/2 dozen old Scrabble games for the tiles and the boxes were just perfect for using as lace cards too.
Used the index cards as a template and there you have it!

How creative. I just bought two scrabble games and was thinking of throwing away the boxes but now might just have to find another creative use for them. THanks for the inspiration.

This is GENIUS my friend!!! I think the lace cards are such an awesome idea. My favorite part of it all is that you used a lovey little do-dads so you knew where the end was. Mary...you have inspired me AGAIN!!!

I can't wait to see your space at the party my friend.
