An Elf in the Garden

Welcome to my fairy garden!
I have been wanting to plant a fairy garden (actually more of an elf garden) in my vintage blue wagon for some time and finally gathered some things just around the house to get it started.

This cute little elf was left behind when his owners moved.  The first Spring after moving here I found him out in the yard in a bunch a leaves. Well he has his own little home now.   A little bird house that I found at a yard sale years ago was the perfect size for his new home.
We have had such hot and windy weather that my plants have struggled a bit. I hope it will fill in the dirt places when it cools down, which I hope will be soon!  Does anyone have any great plants that they have had success growning in wagons and smaller scale for miniature gardens?  Would love some ideas!
I have mostly just some succulents  that I dug from around the garden in the wagon right now.
A short little walk from the elf house is a gazebo made from a bird cage.I just took the bottom out which was a shallow looking bowl.
A cute little dining set was found several years ago for pennies and I just found the little dishes at a yard sale.  I bought a huge box lot of things and this was tucked inside a box.
Cute little red mushrooms were found at the Antique Store where I have a booth- 2.00
The little goose showed up somehow- I don't remember where she came from but  she is still dressed in her Christmas dress!

I have a few more little things that I want to do with my elf wagon when I get a chance and will post when/if I get them done- I just saw the cutest idea for a gazing ball-   Oh if you do start a little wagon garden be sure and drill some holes in the bottom before putting all that dirt in-  Yes,  I remembered after everything was all planted.  Thankfully we were able to come up from the bottom and drill.

It was fun playing and finding things for my little fairy/elf garden.
Do you have a miniature garden?
I would love to see yours!

So that's what you did with your cute, little blue wagon! I can just see it now - walking through the arbor, up the back sidewalk and to the back door of your house. I love being a back door friend! Your wagon is SO sweet - the little fairy land is darling. Now I think I'd better find me a wagon. Sure wish I had kept our son's little red wheelbarrow from a million years ago!

Hugs,

Your little fairy garden is so cute. Not much is able to grow around here at the moment, except for my moss roses, succulents and it seems that the "purslane" has made a comeback for now. Funny how a pot of nothing can turn into such pretty green growth with little yellow flowers. Hooray for wildflowers. :) Have a beautiful day. Tammy

Very cute elf garden! I made one this spring in an old birdbath that had fallen over and broken in one of our many windstorms.

I do think Rob Proctor brings in some of his tropical plants, as we entered through the house and out through a "garden room" to the back yard. I'm sure all the blooming plants are annuals in the other pots, though. On his blog I read that 1,000 pots of annuals were delivered!! So he and his 10 apprentices were very busy. (Like quart sized pots). It was a dream tour!♥♫

Hi darling, this is just too cute for words. There's a gal here in town that has a fairy door at the base of a big tree with flowers surrounding it. I have to say it's the sweetest thing I've seen in a long time..

I love your fairy garden. I made one this year. You can see it on my blog. I got the cutest house a couple years ago. I coulnd't bear to have it outside until now. I made the container from an old crate. I also made a small one as well. Now I am getting ready to make on with Tinkerbelle for a friend. So much fun. I wanted a wagon garden but haven't gotten the right wagon yet. I have a msll wagon but the grandkids love playing with it.

Hi Mary, hopped over from Fishtail Cottage. Your little elf has the cutest of cutest place to dwell. I love the red mushrooms and the gazebo is such a creative idea. I have a fairy garden in a wheelbarrow. I did a post showing it a month or so ago. Some of the plants at the very shallow end are not doing so great. Succulants and moss seem to do fine but I'm hoping I find something that does better. I also created a gnome home in a metal box. Some of those plants are struggling also. Still trying to find what grows well.
Hugs,
Jann

How cute!! A fairy garden would not survive here - the squirrels would destroy it in no time.
Thanks for stopping by and nice comment. I just happened to walk out when the sun was shining on the web - otherwise I probably would not have even notice it until I walked into to it by accident. Ewww!
Yes - the fires are such a sad situation. So much loss/devastation. :(
Enjoy your weekend and stay cool.
