How to Make a Lace Ruler Organizer

 I have to confess-
I am just a big Copy Cat-
Thank you Mamie Jane for your creative genius and showing me you craft space last year on Where Women Create-  She has the best space and I filled my computer with pictures of her place-the idea for the project below being one of them.

My creative space is coming along in bits and spurts.
I thought I would show you a project I did a few weeks ago that turned out just perfect.

One of my friend's who has a booth at the same store mine is was having a great sale a few weeks ago.
I picked up some great things and these 2 items were in the 10cent box!!
Yes you saw that right- a dime a piece.
The top piece was part to a musical mobile of some type and still plays.
The wood piece I am not sure what it is.
Maybe some type of tie rack?
Whatever they are I just knew the minute I saw them that they would work perfect in my creative space I am working on.
Barb also had a few old rulers for 10 cents each which I also snatched up.
I had gone to Lowes a few weeks prior and they had their yard sticks clearance for 48cents I believe, so picked up a few of those.
Items needed for your  Lace Organizer
A rod or some cool gadget thing like I found.
A package of gator clip curtain rings completes the project.
 Old Rulers or yard sticks

First I screwed the wood piece on the underside of my shelf.
I cut the yard sticks into foot ruler pieces and stained them.
It was a simple mater of  wrapping bits of lace and ribbon on each, attaching them to the gator clip and  sliding the rings on the great wood dowel holder.
I took the rings of 2 of the gator clips and clipped them directly to the dowel piece to keep the rulers from sliding off.
A pretty little pair of vintage earrings were attached to the other little hook portion of the curtain rings as shown.

Oh, and that mobile thing?
I can't wait to show it to you-
But it will have to wait for another post-
Can you guess what I used it for?

Good idea for all those trims! I keep mine in a big glass jar but this method lets you see them a bit easier! Can't wait to see more!

Hi Girlfriend...

What a GRAND idea! I love your lace ruler organizer! Not only is it a functional piece but it really does make a pretty piece of art..filled with pretty laces and trims! I need one! Hehe!

I just read the sweet note that you left for me over at my blog and wanted to come by to say hello! I also received your sweet email. I'm sorry that I haven't gotten back to you until now. Thanks so much for thinking about me, dear friend! You're the best!!! It sounds like you have been very busy...as usual. I bet you're excited to have your son doing all the work on the exterior of your home...it will be awesome!!! Can't wait to see photos! Things are going good at my place. I have been staying somewhat busy! I'm still slow as molasses but ohhh well! Hehe! I'm looking forward to spring and the warmer weather. Yes, I always feel better. Wow...we have been having some really gorgeous days...haven't we? I think we have actually broken a few records for warm temps for this time of the year. Makes me wonder if we're going to have a really hot summer. Anyway, so good to hear from you, sweet friend! You are always in my prayers! And...I sure do appreciate your prayers for me as well! Please keep Russell in prayer...he is having some health issues. God is sooo GOOD though!

Warmest spring wishes!
Love ya,
Chari

Isn't it a blessing to know that God has His own timing and all we have to do is trust him... trust him with our everyday life and trust him with our children.
