Sweaters torn and tattered become wonderful works of art as they are upcycled into a beautiful wreath.
When I saw my friend Cindy's pretty wreaths I knew that I had to make one for my home.
You can view her gorgeous wreaths that she created here at her Etsy shop along with other pretties she has.

I was so surprised at how fun these were to make. I took all my supplies with me to the antique store that I work at several times a month for part of my rent. Mondays are usually slow and most of the ladies would rather work on the busier days so I certainly don't mind having some crafting time.
The flowers were so much fun to make. I googled and found several different methods for making flowers and then tweaked them some. I am working on a tutorial that will be posted in the next few days on how to make these flowers and wreaths.
It will be time to change out our seasonal clothes soon so as you are sorting save some of those sweaters for a new wreath!
I am working again this Monday and plan on creating a few more for my booth.
Now I have a question for you. I have a terrible time with pricing things that I make.
Would you help but letting me know how much you think would be a reasonable price for these- that would be such a big help!

Thank you so much for visiting me at My Crazy Quilt Life! And for leaving your nice comment. I love this wreath! It almost makes me wish for more cold weather so it would look right at home here.

It' s lovely! How long did it take to make enters into the price I think. After my dh got sick I used to do catering after my teaching job. Besides the cost of the food, I had to figure how many hours of labor.
I am sure the Etsy ladies will be of help, I really don't know. Sorry! But it is very pretty.
Warm and cozy....delightful and adorable! Again, you are a miracle worker with ideas.
Love this!
Mary ~ your wreaths are beautiful! They are fun, aren't they? I want to get some for spring done and on Etsy, but haven't had the time yet. The lady at the store who made them sold hers for $75 and up, which I think is pricey, but they sold. I tried to price mine a little lower than that, but they are probably still a little high. I try to take into account how many sweaters I had to buy to have a nice selection to work with, the ribbons, charms, wreath, glue and then there is the time. It takes me about a week to complete one, but then, like I said, I don't have lots of extra time. Either way, they can be time consuming, so don't sell yourself short. There is a lady on Etsy who makes them, but wraps her wreaths in yarn and all her flowers are felt. I don't like them as well as the sweater wreaths, but she has sold tons of them and she charges around $55 if I remember correctly.
Can you email me your address again? I can't seem to find my paperwork from you and the envelope. I'm nearly done :)
Cindy
Mary,
This is darling! I, too, have some Christmas sweaters that are showing wear enough NOT to be worn...but I don't want to part with. My thought for them was seasonal pillows. Depending on the cost of your materials, not less than $25. Those who coommented higher quotes must live in a higher cost of living area. No one on this side of the Prairie would pay above $35 ~$40. When doing a "crafting" item, I never figure in my time...just saying! These will be gorgeous in your booth and in someone's home! Thank you for sharing your talent and creativity with us!
Fondly,
Pat
