The Perfect White to Collect- Milkglass + a Giveaway!

(Please read entire post for Giveaway information-
comments left on this post will not be counted towards the fun giveaway)

I love milkglass for its simple beauty and it's price!  I am able to pick up pieces for just dollars still at thrift stores and garage sales.  While organizing my china closets  a few weeks ago I gathered all my whites and displayed them on several shelves.

I love the covered candy dish with the beautiful handpainted rose garland.I did pay more for this piece as I just fell in love with those roses. I think it was about $25.

Milkglass comes in all kinds of patterns- my favorite is hobnail.   I picked up the pretty vase farthest back and to the left last summer for $5.
The cake plate was my hubby's grandmother's and I use it and all these pieces all the time.
If you are wanting to start a pretty collection I encourage you to think about collecting milkglass.  You  will soon find that you have a lovely collection and it won't be harsh on your pocket book!

I am having a fun Giveaway to celebrate 800 followers and would love for you to sign up to win!  I think you will love wearing this pretty piece! To sign up  click here to take you to the giveaway page.

What a lovely collection! Thanks for stopping by. If you are trying to grow tomatoes in CO...it may be best to use a raised bed filled with rich humus. Hybrid choices could be "Celebrity" or "Northern Exposure". Heirlooms: "Brandywine" or "Red Siberia". J'adore French tomatoes such as "Marmande" which could work for you. So many choices!

Hi Mary,
You have a beautiful collection of milkglass. I only have one piece, can you believe that?
I loved your comment and yes, I have been looking for new things to grow this year. I want to try a couple of new roses that I have been looking at on the internet, but am worried about their hardiness. One of them is Sally Holmes. I am also planning a new bed for along the front walk. I can hardly wait.
hugs from here...

Hi Mary!

I love white anything and the milkglass pieces are so pretty! Sweet collection you have!

Congratulations on your 800+ followers :) I am not joining your giveaway as the same company contacted me a while ago.

I enjoyed reading your "about" page. The Complete Green Letters was a book I read many times many years ago. It is still on my book shelf!

So nice stopping by to visit with you!
Kindly, Lorraine

Love your milk glass collection, Mary. My favorites are hobnails too but I also really like your covered compote with flowers. You know I am not sure if Halle will grow baby teeth again in those spots. I guess we'll find out after a few years...Christine

I have a few pieces. Mostly things my mother had except the opalescent hobnail dish that used to sit on her dresser. I think she said it was a dusting powder dish and somehow the lid broke. I've looked into collect opalescent Hobnail but it can be very expensive. You have a very nice collection.~Ames
