Master bedroom - Nest Fluffing!

Yesterday's Sunday post showed the master bedroom right after painting and just a few accessories- I have fluffed the nest considerably and even since these pictures there are some changes (the fluffing never ceases around here!)

I am reading all the great projects at The Inspired Room's procrastinator party and wished that I would have pinned myself down for one project. But I did get the room fluffed and several other things done so does that count??

We brought in the pink chairs and the corner curio cabinet a few weeks ago (more of the furniture from storage)

I love my rose chandelier that came with the house

Isn't that a pretty reflection!
I am still in a quandary about the bedding but for now the crochet coverlet will do
DH bought the settee for me for my birthday last year.

Close up of the pretty drapery fabric I used for window treatments- bought it in Phoenix at "Fabric by the Yard" spend less than $30 for all that fabric plus several yards left over!
The burgandy velvet valance was in the room when we bought the house.
More gifts from my friend Millicent. Isn't that a lovely spelter set with matching candelabras and cherub clock that stands on pink marble. I never would have been able to afford something like this - I Know- need candles!
Just the sweetest little cherub!

One of the arms on one candelabra was broken- would anyone know how you repair something like this?

One of my yard long prints

Pretty Victorian lady prints from my Grandmother

I don't want this entry to be too long so will continue all the pretty details later this week- Thank
you for all those who had so much input in this room while I was decorating it. You all are just the best!!

Always Nesting is having a wonderful giveaway over at her sweet blog- be sure to go and check it out!

Fairy Footprints in the sand is having the sweetest necklace giveaway also!

Mary Ellen--Fluffing is half the fun! Your previous owner left you some goodies that seem to fit in perfectly with your style. I love the romantic look and the cherubs!

What a lovely and comfy room this is...I, too, have the yard long rose print...those roses are just divine, aren't they?

You know I just moved into our home about 6 months ago...I've still not done anything to our bedroom..it's soon to transform though. :0)

I've spent more time knocking out walls and installing windows, moving the kitchen, etc....so I intentionally didn't do much until all of that was finished.

Have a great day,
Stephanie

Thanks for saying Cindy had a fork chandelier in her birdcage. I have tried to remember for the last couple of days where I had seen one before - you have jogged my memory.
Have a great week.

Oh, Mary, I just love your home and the bedroom is just beautiful! The drapes are perfect. I rather like the coverlet on the bed as it is. I put an off white metlasse on my bed with needlepoint pillows at the head and it looks nice. Can't wait till I can visit it in person!

Have a great week!!!

Hello Mary,

Thanks for stopping by....When you go play with Wordle remember that any spaces between words will be considered one word and scattered randomly in the word cloud...so I typed certain words together using Capital letters to begin them with...you could also do the scripture by using a hyphen between the words and see what happens. It's a blast to play with..you can customize everything.

Hugs,
Stephanie

Oh this is a lovely room. It is so inviting--love the pink chairs especially. I always loved a sitting place in the bedroom and you have a nice one. The curtains are beautiful and what a find to get the fabric at such a price. The chandelier is just awesome--It is gorgeous!!! I like your bedspread because it makes me think of some we had as kids. Yes, your reflection in the mirror is cool. The whole room is great---so is that a real fireplace or an electric thingy or what??

Also I know what you mean about going up and down the stairs. We also had a similar situation. We would use the downstairs bedroom in the summer because it was WAY cooler down there and then we used the upstairs bedroom in the cold times because the heat would rise and it was warmer up there!! But our clothes were all up there and we liked the bathroom up there. But I used the downstairs 1/2 bathroom for all my hair stuff, makeup etc...BUT I can only use my hair dryer in the other downstairs bath room because it won't blow the circuts (sp?).BUT that bathroom has no cupboards for my other hair stuff!! So I go between the 3 bathrooms and thus there is no "guest bathroom".

Now we have finally installed a mini-split in the downstairs bedroom so we have begun usuing it year round. However the closet there is only about 2 and 1/2 feet wide!! So all our clothing is upstairs!! SOOOO I fully understand all the running around you have done!!

WOW WEE MARY, your bedroom is gorgeous. I like how your bedspread matches the bench. I can't believe they left the pretty chandelier, you lucky girl. Everything in that room looks fantastic including those magnificent candelabras are wonderful too.. I think your all setup, but when you do get the candles, oh boy is that going to be lovely.... how sweet!

Very charming!

Oh If you are going to be here for Thanksgiving, I would love to meet you for coffee or whatever. Yes, I do find that the GW that is by Sun City Grand has the best things of the two out here. It is on Grand Ave. between Bell Rd. and Reems Rd. Like everything else, it is hit and miss, but that's where I have found most of my dishes and things. Anyway, I don't know what area you're going to be in, but let me know and maybe we can get together. Hugs, Marty

Mornin' Dearheart...

Well I just had to come by this post after reading your Sunday Favorites post and seeing that you were going to be posting the update of your beautiful master bedroom! Ohhhh my Mary...you have been doing some "fluffing" and it's absolutely gorgeous!!! I am so serious when I say that your master bedroom looks like it came out of a Romantic Homes or Romantic Bedrooms magazine!!! It really is just breathtaking and soooo very beautiful!!! Of course, I just adore that beautiful antique bed and dresser! And girlfriend, I love the pretty white crocheted lace bed coverlet...I think it's perfect!!! Ohhh...and your lovely birthday gift...the settee...gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS!!! It just looks so perfect at the end of your bed! I love the new furniture additions...that little curio cabinet is fabulous...it looks like it was made to go in this room too! Also the pretty pink wingback chairs...they're lovely! You really have a very spacious bedroom...what a blessing! I had forgotten that you had a fireplace in this room...Ohhh, to have a fireplace in the master bedroom is just soooo awesome! And I love how you've decorated the mantle, Mary! Your dear friend Millicent's Spelter pink marble clock and candelabras are magneficent!!! I've never seen anything like it...so very beautiful and again, so perfect for your pretty master! Hmmm...I'm wondering if you could just get some good metal glue to fix the arm? I know that Russell recently tried to fix the handle that came off of one of my silver creamers...tried soldering it and it didn't stay long (broke off again). I think I'm just going to look for some good glue that's made for metal!

Well Darlin'...what a sweet treat!!! I loved every photo and thoroughly enjoyed my tour of your fabulous master bedroom's metamorphosis!!! Thank you for sharing more of your beautiful home with us!!!

Love ya,
Chari

Hi Mary Ellen! Your bedroom turned out absolutely LOVELY. I could comment on every piece, but it would take tooo long! :) That being said, I first have to tell you how amazed I am that you bought allll that gorgeous curtain fabric (plus more) for a mere thirty-dollar!! It is so gorgeous, and they look great. Now, what a blessing to have that sweet chandelier hanging and waiting for you when you moved in!! I've shown it to Rosie and now she wants one, of course. We collect things with roses in honor of her name. ;) I do love the crocheted bedspread sooo much! But then, I'm biased as I have a similar one on my bed. I just love their simple beauty. It was a lovely tour of a lovely, peaceful place. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
Warmly,

You have such beautiful pieces of furniture! I love that dresser in the corner. That wood is amazing!

To answer your question on my blog, yes, I've set up a spray booth in my basement for my paiting. We closed in 3 sides with heavy pastic and open the cellar doors on the 4th wall for ventilation. I have this mainly because I do most of my painting with an HVLP sprayer. Some day I'll do a post on my workshop. :)

Thanks for the visit. Your bedroom looks like a cozy b&b!

You asked about our radiators.
We disconnected them. Covered the floor with cardboard and a water resistant tarp. Stripped with Smart Strip and a lot of elbow grease. It was by no means perfect. It was really messy. I just didn't want to have to move them far. I really wanted to get them powdercoated but....

I think when I get around to the ones down stairs I might get them power blasted.

But that is a project for next summer. Good luck.
