I am so glad to be able to participate in sweet Chari's Sunday Favorites. She is just the sweetest and was one of the first friends I made when I started blogging. If you have not gone over and met here be sure you do- you will have made a new friend forever! This post was originally posted March 8, 2009. It was the first time I participated in MET Monday which Susan at Between Naps on the Porch hosts-
I am so happy to finally participate in one of Susan's Metamorphosis Mondays-
PROBLEM - BLANK WALL!
Would anyone know what kind of instrument this is- this is another gift from my friend Millicent-
Well that's all I have for my Met Monday but be sure and look at the real professionals who signed up! I love all the inspiration I receive from you all!!http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/
**** I have redone the top of that armoire with some bigger pieces. It does look better but still not quite there. Maybe I will post a picture so you can help me tweek it a little bit more! I still don't know the name of the instrument that I showed- Had 1/2 a dozen people ask about it when they came over to visit during my mishap- would still love to know what it is if any of you might have a clue!
Went to the Dr Friday - He gave me ok to travel to NM to close on our home and to start putting as much weight as I can on my foot!! It was so good to get out after 3 weeks of being indoors! We found a yard sale right by the doctors office and had so much fun finding a few treasures!! I was pooped afterwards but so worth the poopiness to be out for a bit!!

I love your little shelf it reminds me of a church window. The vintage cards are really sweet! I really love vintage art and cards! What a neat little crown too!
Thanks for sharing!
Sherri:)
I know what the instrument is. It's a Sitar. An Indian guitar, very old. I love the gorgeous shelf with all the wonderful cards and the lovely vignette. It is so pretty. Everything is just gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
Your vignette is awesome! I love all the old cards but most of all the scriptures that go with them.. How are you doing after being at the doctors? Continue to take care of yourself and mend...sharon
So, so happy you are feeling better, and what better way to celebrate than going to a yard sale? You find the most amazing things!!! LOVE that shelf and the Bible verse cards.
Great news from the Dr. Glad you are able to be out and about. Did you see the article in this a.m.'s Pueblo Chieftain newspaper about rattlesnake bites? Guess you aren't the only one -- they say bites are up this year. Take care, and don't over do it!!! Sally
Love your little shelf. Love how you decorated it. Glad to hear your doing better. How fun that you found a yard sale so close to your doctor's office.
Hugs :)

Well my dear friend...I do remember this post and just love it! I love your little church window shaped shelf and think it's absolutely perfect in that spot!!! Love how you used the pretty vintage cards and you know that I love, love, LOVE that little crown! Hehe! I remember this post so well because I went and made the same kind of candles with the sheet music after seeing how pretty yours turned out! I have one in my frenchy studio!
Girl, I don't remember seeing that gorgeous armoire though! Ohhh myyy...it's a beauty! Wherever did you find it? I'd love to see some photos after you redecorated the top of it! I was thinking that a stack of pretty folded quilts would look nice and might give you some height...just a thought!
Thank you so much for sharing more of your lovely home with us, Mary! It's always such a joy to visit...you have sooooo many pretties! My friend, I'm just so thankful to hear that you are feeling so well and that you are being able to get out now! When are ya'll planning on going to NM? You take care and don't overdo it now!!! Still keeping you in my prayers Sweetie!!!

That shelf is an excellent yard sale find, but the best thing is how you put the little vignette together!

Love your little shelf....it does look like a stain glass window frame. Great find!
I LOVE the cards!
I love the "church window" shelf! It's really pretty and I love what you've done with it. The armoire is gorgeous. Perhaps a really large dough bowl would look nice (laying on its side against the wall) Have no idea what that instrument is, but it looks like some type of dulcimer? Thanks for sharing this. Kathy
Hi Mary! Oh, to answer your question...I do know lots of songs, but if I can't think of one...I cheat and look one up on the puter! :P Shhhh...don't tell anyone!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
