I have a lovely quilt to show you that my friend Gayle made! I will be showing you her home and some other awesome quilts she designed and made in the week or two ahead so keep tuned in!
Before we get to the quilt I want to apologize for not keeping in touch very well the past few weeks. It has been 4 weeks of non- stop- we just finished up a Rodeo Bible camp plus having 2 different sets of company- If I have not gotten back to comment on your blog, I am so sorry- I don't know if it will be much better the next few weeks though they do look somewhat less filled with activity- I do miss all my blogging sistas!
Gayle used corners from her Mother's and Aunt's old hankies to make this precious wall quilt. She gave the other corners to relatives so they each could make a keepsake. I thought this was such a wonderful idea. I don't have any hankies from relatives but love to collect them!
Look at all the detailing she added!
Little bits of lace- embroidery- just precious!
What a wonderful idea to use those hankies that are not so perfect but yet so very pretty-

Oh, what a lovely lovely idea! My Momma collected hankies and I divided half with my sis but I still have two drawers full and who uses hankies anymore since Kleenes? Thank you for the suggestion. I will let you know if I get to this creative endeavor so you can see the end product.
Clever lady! Tks so much.

Hi Mary,
What a beautiful way to use those vintage hankies. Your friend has made a wonderful piece of art. The details are amazing. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Tell Gayle it's a treasure.

Oh my, this quilt is gorgeous! I sure wish I had the patience to sew. I just did a Pink Saturday post today about pink buttons and what a beautiful seamstress my mom was but unfortunately, sewing is nothing but frustrating to me. :(
Mary, that is beautiful, and what a lovely and generous idea to give the other corners to family members. She has created such a touching heirloom! Thank you and thank her for sharing this. laurie

Mornin' Girlfriend...
Just read your sweet note...wanted to come over and say Hi! Girl, it sounds like you have been so busy...how are you holding up? Hope you can rest up so that you're ready for the next "wave" of activities!!!
My friend, this hankie quilt is sooo beautiful! What a great idea and way to use and display these beautifully prints! I have always loved these pretty things and have a few that I have collected over the years. I think I only have a couple that were my grandmothers but this is such a great way to honor and remember a loved one (by using their pretty hankies this way)! Mary, wouldn't this pretty quilt be gorgeous on a table set for tea? Oooooh!!!
Well Darlin'...please don't work to hard and take care of yourself!!! We are leaving for Texas to see all three of my girls and all ten of my grandchildren this Saturday...we'll be gone for a couple of weeks! I'm so excited to see them...it's been over a year now!
Have a terrific Tuesday Sweetie!
Love ya,
