What are your favorite Decorating reads? and More fun giveaways

Well it's more time sitting on my bum! The Dr has ordered total elevation of foot that was biten by the rattlesnake till the 17th when I go back for a visit. I also developed a rash yesterday due to the 5th or 6th different antibiotic - Keep getting allergic reactions!

Oh well enough of that what I want to enlist your help is for some reading for this time. There have been so many great book reviews on decorating and such and of course I never wrote them down! The state of Co has a great lending library program so I thought if I could come up with some great decorating idea books I might be able to read a few during my bum time! Do you have a favorite?

And now for some great giveaways through out blogland!

We brought Mary home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. She got some pretty good rest last night. She is under "house arrest" and is to stay off of her foot for 10 days. Keeping the foot from becoming infected is the concern right now. The platelet count did go up. Again thank you for all your prayers and love!

An update and Mary and Snake bite

I am simply overwhelmed with emotion as I look back over the last week of my life. I am sitting in my hospital bed at this moment feeling like I am actually going to make it for the first time 7 days. Many have asked what happened last week and so I will try to give you a glimpse of my very interesting week!

Last Saturday our son Jonathan had brought our 5th wheel back to us as we were heading out to do a church camp the next week and needed it for our time there. The camp had issued a paper stating no sandles would be allowed do to snakes- I had ordered a pair of sneakers and thought -well no time like th present to start breaking these puppies in. When Iwent to put them on they ended up being too small and since we were just making a quick trip to the land to unload the trailer I put a pair of sandles on. Many of you know I became a beekeeper and while we were out there decided to check the bees water. Without warning I felt a prick and told bill Something had just biten me when I then saw the rattle snake there by the water hole. Bill immediately drove me to the Walsenburg hospital where they administered a pain killer Fentenye- immediately I started with an allergic reaction and felt my face and body begin to swell. I went into Antifilatic Shock. The team induced a coma and put me on life support and then Life flighted me to Saint Mary Corwins hospital in Pueblo where I basically fought for my life for several days as anti venom and meds kept bringing allergic reactions. Finally on Tuesday they told Bill they would start the process of bringing me off the ventilater- I guess I didn't like the thing as before they could begin the process I somehow got that thing out of my throat. I can not begin to tell of the ordeal of all that went on and yet in the midst of it all Jesus was there in each Doctor, nurse, tech, cleaning lady etc. that ministered to me in my time of need. There is some difficuty with my platelet levels, antibiotic reactions etc but I feel blessed to have been given another day to live for Him. My foot is oh so sore and they feel with all the reactions the antivenon may not have worked. My Fibromylgia is in full flare mode after being bed ridden for 8 days now. I can not put any pressure on my foot for now and hopefully by tomorrow the team of Drs will have some conclusions as to where to go from here. Maybe home? Even so it will be a long recovery time. I am not the most patient person and ask for prayer that I will let God be God during this time and rest in Him and His timing./ My DH has been absolutely a Godsend, our boys were here, my Mom and sisters, tons of precious prayers going up on my behalf- Thank you.

I am not quite sure this is making total sense but have had so many incquire i Really wanted to try to update you. Again - thank you- Thank you-You have been His hands and feet bringing the Gospel of peace to me in my time of need!

Mary in the hospital

Hi - I am Mary's sister Maureen - I wanted all of her friends to know that Mary was bitten by a rattlesnake on Saturday, June 27th - she had a severe reaction and is in the ICU in Pueblo - she is off the ventilator and is coming out of the sedation; however, she is very uncomfortable, and is in pain from the snake bite and her Fibromalgia. Please keep her in your prayers as she is wanting out of the hospital - so pray for patience, and a quick healing. She'll fill you in on all the details when she has recovered.

Tour of Gayle's Sweet Abode!

A little side note before the great tour- My computer has finally said enough! I have tripped over the cord too many times and it will not longer charge the computer- I guess the connector is attached to the mother board so that means...... new mother board or new computer :{ - I am using DH right now but all my pictures are on my computer so I am not sure when I will be able to post with pictures again. I had started on this blog entry of Gayles home and have another of her gorgeous quilt- so hopefully that will do till I can figure out if I want to spend money on a mother board or a new computer! Also since this is DH computer I am limit to my leaving comments- So please be patient with me and know I trying to "phone home!"

I promised last week to show you my friend Gayles wonderful home. Gayle and I did craft shows together years ago when my boys were just little tikes! She moved away about 15 years ago and we lost contact. Last year a mutual friend mentioned that Gayle lived in a little town in Co. that was near me!! Oh how fun it was getting back in touch - she is such a sweetie and so talented! I showed you her precious hankie quilt a few blogs back and some of her other quilts when I blogged about us getting together for the first time after all those years!

She had me over for tea one Saturday and I came equipped with my camera because I knew Gayle's house would just be delightful-

Gayle and her dad made the coat rack to the right-

This picture is what you see as you walk in her front door- I wish my picture of her chandelier turned out- it was her mother'sLook at all the gorgeous tea pots!! Gayle and her dad made the cabinet from a top of a buffet that was her aunts and another family pieceSuch sweet vignettes all around the house! Her sis bought her this gorgeous teaset!Gayle told me the names of so many of her china but, alas, my pee brain- I think this was old country rose?Wish you could see this cup and saucer in person- the detailing is just wonderful!

Another lovely cup and saucer! (wish I had brought a big purse to sneak a few home!)

Gayle wanted the light to come through this window but wanted privacy so she faux stain glassed this window! It is just lovely and no one would know it was not real stained glass.

Do you see that quilt above and in mirror? Wow does this quilt have a story and deserves it's own blog entry- you will see this gorgeous masterpiece very soon!

A little vignette in her bathroom

Another picture of that wonderful tea cup and saucer!

Oh I could have taken tons more pictures- she really has a gift for decorating! I do hope you enjoyed this little tour of my sweet friend's home- the best part of the day was of course having tea with an old friend!

Cloches Bell jars and such

http://astrollthrulife.blogspot.com/ Were having a Cloche party! Click to see other great ideas for displaying your cloches or bell jars!

THis is my newest wire cloche and I have an extra one if anyone would like to have a large cloche like this- price is $35 plus shipping- first one to leave me a comment stating they would like to buy it is the new owner! Size-

This is my favorite cloche - I just love how everything came together for a perfect vignette!

This little glass pear shape cloche was so sweet before Mikey the kitty decided to play with it! :(

My Grandmother passed away in January and my mother gave me one of her thimbles. I wanted to give it a special place and so decided to use this little cloche do display it. I found the sweet little feather a few weeks ago and put it with the thimble-

Thought I would show you what I used for this little piece- not much- a little silver dish, a flat tart tin, a paper doily- there you have it!

And now ladies I need your help with these cloches I have on top of one of my china cabinets- they are oh so tall and skinny- what do you think would look nice in them and how would you display them- together- seperately? Help Help

This has been so much fun- hope you have enjoyed my feeble efforts at cloche decorating- now I am off to see yours!
